"Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may
prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers."
III John :2 (NAS)
Many of you have become overwhelmed with day to
day life. Playing taxi for the kids, maybe working a job outside
the home, running errands, cleaning house, trying to take care of
things by yourself because officer hubby is working long or odd
hours, sometimes feeling like a single parent... it can take it's
toll!
You spend so much time taking care of others. So
what are you doing to take care of yourself? Did you know that it's
OK to take care of YOU? Don't feel guilty! You won't be any good
to others or God if you are worn out! God wants every aspect of
your life to be healthy and in balance.
In order to take care of yourself, it is important
that you DRESS right.
D: Diet
R: Recreation
E: Exercise
S: Spirit
S: Sleep
Take a look at your diet... Your body, health and
energy will reflect what you eat. Need to make a few changes?
What about recreation... it's ok to have fun! Schedule
it in! It'll lift your spirits and it's all a part of taking care
of the whole person.
No time for exercise? MAKE TIME! Hey, even a 15
minute walk before bed is great heart health and mental health!
What about your spiritual life... you know you need
to have time with God. Don't neglect it! It doesn't always have
to be at the same time every day; but do look at each day and make
sure that you've slotted a time for prayer and the Word! And talk
to God as you go about your day!
And lastly... SLEEP! Your body NEEDS to sleep! Sleep
is God's way of refreshing and restoring you for the next day! Don't
extend your day at the expense of sleep.
Take good care of yourself so that you will be able
to be a blessing to others and able to enjoy your life!
PRAYER: Father, I pray that these women would realize
the benefit of taking good care of themselves. Help them to make
the changes that they need to, and to prosper in all respects! In
Jesus' name, amen.
