Cop Devotionals For Wives
A Man and His Ego

"...and let the wife see that she respects and reverences her husband--that she NOTICES him, regards him, honors him, prefers him, venerates and esteems him; and that she defers to him, PRAISES him, and loves and ADMIRES him exceedingly."
Ephesians 5:33b (AMP, emphasis mine)

The truth is out... men have egos! God created your man with that ego! He has a genuine need to be admired, noticed and praised by you!

The profession that your husband has been called to doesn't offer a lot of positive reinforcement and praise from citizens or from the office. It is ESPECIALLY important that YOU provide him with the praise that he needs!

How can you notice, praise and admire him? First of all, PAY ATTENTION to the things that he does at home. Does he do fix-it type things around the house? Praise his work! Does he work out? Verbally admire his muscles and strength! Did he spend a lot of time washing the car? Oooo and aaahhh over it a bit! Did he play with the kids for awhile? Tell him what an awesome dad he is!

A man's identity is strongly tied to his job, so it's also very important that you speak your admiration for his work as a police officer. Praise his stories from the beat and let him know how proud you are of his courage and skill.

And don't forget to comment on his body! When he puts on that uniform, tell him how sexy he looks! If you like his hair, run your fingers through it and tell him how much it turns you on! Let him know that you desire him physically and make it a point to verbally admire his love-making ability!

There is always something each day that you can find to praise and admire him for. Be sure to praise him in front of the children and his friends, too! He'll be struttin' like a proud peacock and will hardly be able to wait to spend time with his admiring wife!

PRAYER: Father, help cops' wives to be their husband's biggest fans! Help them to replace criticism with praise! Let their words draw their husbands to them! In Jesus' name, amen.
