Cop Devotionals For Wives
Married Women Need to Date

"And rejoice in the wife of your youth... Be exhilarated always with her love."
Proverbs 5:18b, 19b (NAS)

Remember how Officer Charming pursued you before you got married? He showed off in front of you, did sweet little things for you, and professed his never-ending love! Did the fun, excitement and thrill dwindle once you'd been married awhile?

Then I strongly suggest that you women start dating again! Yes, I said DATING!!! You need to DATE YOUR MATE! One of the biggest mistakes I see married couples making is to stop dating each other! Lack of time alone with each other breeds disconnection.

I don't want to hear any excuses about cops not making enough to afford going out or about a lack of babysitters! Dates don't have to cost much money. A long walk holding hands while having an actual conversation, an ice cream cone at DQ, a little making out in a private location... use your imagination! The point is to have time alone together and to communicate!

If babysitting is an issue, then work out something with another couple so that you can trade babysitting favors for a date every other week. Your marriage is your most important priority, and you need to MAKE a way to spend time alone together!

I realize that sometimes Officer Charming is stuck working long and irregular hours. Then meet him for some stolen moments during his lunch hour! Whatever you do, find a way to have dates! Your marriage is worth it!

PRAYER: Father, I pray that these ladies' marriages would thrive! Help these couples to make their marriage such a priority that they can hardly wait to spend time alone with each other! In Jesus' name, amen.
