Cupcakes Across America (CAA) started way back in July of 2000 with this thread in the Handcuffed Hearts forum. One of the Assistants wanted to start bringing sweet delicacies to her husband's department, and she posted a poll to get opinions on what type of dessert would be most welcomed. Through several replies to the poll, it was decided that cupcakes were the confection of choice.

Handcuffed Hearts members strive to support their spouses by baking for the department employees sometime during the first week of each month. An extra effort is welcomed on holidays as well. It isn't always cupcakes; sometimes it's cookies, other times brownies. But the point is to support the department and say a little "thank you" to those that put their lives on the line every day.

Also, feel free to attach a little note with the Handcuffed Hearts website address to your baked goods, in case any of the other officers in the department would like to refer this site to their own spouses.

A reminder will be posted on the forum and on the calendar a few days before each CAA week.
