Bread Pudding

combine:
2 c milk
4 eggs
1 c sugar
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla

pour over:
6 pieces of dry bread--each slice broken into about 6 pieces

Let bread "soak" for at least 15 minutes. Stir and make sure the less soaked pieces get to the bottom of the mixture. "Soak" another 15 minutes. (add raisens if desired)

Pour into 9" square baking dish that has been generously greased with softened butter. Bake at 350 for at least 45 min, or until browned on top. When done, let it sit out a bit to cool off before eating. Serve with whipped cream or just pour cream over your portion.
This also reheats well in the microwave.

****the best bread to use is a thicker white bread
****the best method to achieve a perfect dry bread for this recipe is:
Place slices into 100 degree oven, for about a half hour--do not let them brown. Then let them sit out a bit, at least another 1/2 hour until they are dry but middle may be just a bit soft still.
